ClearPath On-Bill FAQ
What is ClearPath On-Bill?
A financing program for Xcel Energy electric customers. The Collective Clean Energy Fund pays for your upgrade, and you repay it as a fixed monthly line on your Xcel bill.
Is there a lien on my home?
No. ClearPath files a notice with the county; it is not a lien.
What equipment qualifies?
ClearPath covers heat pumps, heat pump water heaters, required panel upgrades, and smart thermostats. Repairs and tune-ups don't qualify.
Can I still get rebates?
Yes. With ClearPath, available rebates are applied up front and lower the amount you finance.
How long does approval take?

My system just failed. Can I still use ClearPath?

Can I pay it off early?
Yes. ClearPath has no prepayment penalty.
What happens if I sell my home?
A ClearPath balance stays with the electric meter: the buyer takes over the payments when service transfers, and you must disclose it to them.
I'm not an Xcel customer.
ClearPath is for Xcel Energy electric customers. The RENU Loan works with any utility, and some Colorado electric co-ops offer their own on-bill program; ask us.
Do I have to own the home?
Yes. ClearPath is for owners, and the account holder must be named on the Xcel account.
